- Club Updates and Events
Bottles and Cans: Pablo, Anton, Jack B, Jack D, and Bob W are today’s volunteers. Pablo
also presented our club with a check from Paul Erikson for his personal bottle/can redemption.
Interclubs: We are 200 points ahead of Dover-Foxcroft in the District Yahtzee contest!! We
can't let up, though, as they are notorious for come-from-behind victories. A Division meeting
was held on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at O'Shea's and we had 5 members present. Yesterday morning
(12/17) we acquired Mashpee's bell. How soon in 2010 do you think we will see them?
Builders Club: They have been busy collecting tabs throughout the school, and already have
a large water bottle almost 1/4 full. It was suggested that they might like to challenge the
Nauset Key Club in a drive to collect the most. In January, they will be meeting at the school
at 6:30 a.m. to travel to a local shelter to feed the homeless. (And we complain about getting
here for our own 7:15 a.m. breakfast!) When they have a few minutes at the end of their
meetings, they are bagging tees for our August Golf Challenge.
Harwich High School Key Club: They recently gained 3 new members. Also, their mitten/hat
tree is about to fall over. Congratulations to them for this inspiring and needed project.
Nauset Regional High School Key Club: Kristin has agreed to be one of the club advisors.
Safe Harbor: Sam and Mary Jane delivered toiletries and beanie babies. Len, Ginny and
Susan will be making a visit on Dec. 28 to view a couple of rooms for make-overs.
Peanut Day Peanut Brittle: Dick Morello came with only a couple of bags of Peanut Brittle this
morning. They were taken off his hands quickly by Irene. Thanks again to Dick for his culinary
art! It's delicious. And, a total of $102 was rais ed through this effort for the Administrative Fund.

Happy $$ for a MERRY CHRISTMAS--HAPPY NEW YEAR--HAPPY HOLIDAYS and $$ just for
HAPPINESS were abundant among our gathering this morning. Rev. Richard, however, was sad because
he dropped his Swap Gift in the parking lot; although, he did offer it to anyone who wanted to go out and
“lick it up”. . . what a shame to waste that bottle of Harvey's Bristol Crème! A good health report from the
neurologist for Mary Jane was a holiday blessing as were the Christmas celebrations that were going to be
spent with children from near and far. Jack Brown welcomed our guest and made sure she got an
application. Joyce, a friend of Michael’s and Susan’s has joined us on a number of occasions. And, on a
happy note for them, but a sad note for us, we wished the Smiths, the Sheehans, the Alaries and the
Morellos Happy Trails. Be well, have fun, and see you in the spring.
And now, let the Holiday Yankee Sw ap begin . . .
It’s sure hard to tell around here who is naughty and who is nice
?
Today there was no oath, and the rules (á la Dick) were different -- We could even cry and whine if we
wanted! A good time was had by all. Some gifts were very popular and exchanged hands a number of
times. Susan and Len had a particular spar going for some Christmas wine glasses. Another popular item
was the Crème de Menthe. Quite a number of members added to their wineries with Merlot, Yellow Tail
Cabernet Sauvignon, Midnight Blues (a blueberry wine), Stoli Rasberi, and Peppermint Schnapps. If you are
one of the lucky friends of Mary Jane, she will be inviting you to a game of Dominoes, hosted by Susan; but
you will have to wait until spring – but will the Trail Mix last until then? After a trade, Bob W thought he was
getting a box of chocolates, but packaging can be deceiving – Marge’s loss for sure! Also ask Glen what
was in the Victoria's Secret bag. I hope Ty found someone to share his Willow Tree Angel of Friendship
figurine. And, last but not least, be prepared to see Jack Dowman's gift in the array next year.
We’ve got the perfect spot already picked out for these “puppies” at our next yard sale!
