th
!
Health and Wellness: The Meyers report that they are doing well, and enjoying our
newsletter.
Builders Club: They had an exciting meeting last Monday, as they continue to assist in
leading the school-wide effort for Haiti relief. The recent assembly had over 500 students in
attendance. Some of the projects include bak e sales and jars created by the art class for
change throughout the cafeteria.
Nauset Regional High School Key Club: Although there was no meeting, President Maya
has been very active with the Key Club’s Facebook site. Next week Anton will distribute the 5
Power Nap kits to members. The Club is talking about the possibility of participating in the
Key Leader meeting in Springfield. Louise, the Treasurer, has also recently distributed Key
Club donation cans to local merchants.
The Family Pantry: Dianne will bring over the food donations today – thank you, Dianne!
Dianne also reminded us that she will be selling gift cards to Stop & Show, Shaw’s, and
Friends’ next week. Remember – for no extra cost to us, a percentage of all gift cards
purchased goes directly to the Family Pantry!
Announcements
Our recent Newsletters are now available again in a web-based format, for those who prefer
this view and/or who do not have MSWord on their PC or Mac. You can access them at our
website by clicking on “Recent Newsletters”. If there is an earlier Newsletter that you wish to
see in this format, let Joe Marino know, and he’s happy to assist. All newsletters are also
archived each week in Word on our “For Members” site. Thanks, Joe!
The Finance Committee will meet next Wednesday at 4:30pm at the Harwich Community
Center, followed by the Board meeting at 5:00pm. All are welcome.
Dianne Wadsworth reports that she has volunteered to start babysitting 1 night/week at Safe
Harbor in the name of Kiwanis. We look forward to hearing from Dianne periodically on how
this is going.
A number of our club members have had Dick Morello e-sightings. Anton shared that Dick
has heightened his jeep, and is having a great time destroying Mother Nature through his wild
rides in the dessert. Rev Richard shared a Dick Morello quiz – If you put both your dog and
wife in the trunk of your car for a while, and then open the trunk back up, any bets on which
one greets you with the most amount of joy?
A special thank you to Chuck Hilton for selling the 50/50 raffle tickets today while Rev Richard
was otherwise occupied.
Today’s Program: Rev Richard was very pleased to introduce Chris Hardman and Joanne
Liberles who spoke to us on behalf of the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation. Both Chris and Joanne
are Cape Cod residents, and real estate professionals, who spend vacations and free time
volunteering at the Saint Rock Clinic in Carrefour, Haiti (located in the mountains outside of
Port-au-Prince -- 10 miles and 1 hour away). The Saint Rock Haiti Foundation was established
by Ralph Stowe in 2002, with the mission of a) providing health care to the Saint Rock area of
Haiti, b) instituting community outreach programs that promote Haitians to be self sufficient, and
c) focusing on educational programs for children to give them a proper foundation for life. In
addition to their medical clinic and outreach programs, they are also involved in a local clean
water initiative. With the recent disaster, their efforts are obviously needed more than ever,
especially with providing the very basic needs of food and medicine. Amazingly, despite their
close proximity to Port-au-Prince, Joanne and Chris were very pleased to report that their clinic
was undamaged by the earthquake. More information may be found at

$ $ $ HAPPY DOLLARS $ $ $
Bob led with a very Happy $ for his many years of marriage to Marge. Many members wished both Bob and Marge
anniversary congratulations. Chuck Hilton was welcomed back again as the guest of Sam and Mary Jane, and Chuck
himself shared that he was grateful for being part of our club. Sam shared a Happy $ contribution from the Meyers.
Kristin was thankful for her family. Ty had a good luck $ for Dianne in hopes of her passing the police background
check (?!?!) – we all look forward to that update! Anton was glad to be seeing his grandchild, and for his new little
camera (may the photos today speak for themselves as to the value of that $). Rev Richard gave a $ for good friends
and good times. And a number of members shared their concern for those in Haiti.
