Announcements
KFNE Annual Meeting is 6/5 – Len & Bob W will attend
Len brought back greetings from the Bermuda Cruise – “Washy, Washy! Happy, Happy”!
(You had to be there? – Maybe next year!)
Our Builders Club guests told us about the 6/18 Relay for Life event at D-Y High. The Board
had approved a donation of $200 to assist them in this effort, and Len presented them with the
check at our meeting. In addition, the kids “passed the hat” and raised another $274.59 from
the very generous club members present!!!!!
At the 5/28 Camp Dream Day Cleanup, 12 NRHS Key Clubbers and 13-14 Club Members
and spouses helped! (see photos below)
The Scholarship Committee reported that they received over 100 applications this year.
Scholarships were awarded as follows:
$1000 Kiwanis Scholarship: NRHS – Maya Hatch
$1000 Kiwanis Scholarship: VocTech – Sarah Capra
$500 Dave Wadsworth Scholarship – Jessica Lynn Brown
$500 D-Y Scholarship – Kristen Huet-Heart
Bob Prew (Builders Club) Scholarship – not awarded
Do you have a camera? Anton reported he will be largely out of commission for several
months after next week, and asked that someone take photos (and sit next to Rev Richard and
get him a half-cup of coffee at each Friday meeting). Members responded appropriately – with
numerous hoots and catcalls. (A note from today’s Editor: Please Remember, No Photos
= Very Boring Newsletters – just look at this page!!! Please volunteer if you can!)
Len asked his guest, Pat Curnan, whom he met at the Plant Sale, to say a few words about
herself. Pat said she was from Richfield, CT (as were Anton and Ann Needel) and that her
father had been a Kiwanian. She moved to Brewster five years ago. Pat is a realtor with
Century 21, and owns the Shoreland franchise.

Several members were happy that our middle school Builders Club guests, and parents,
attended. Many were also glad to see that Murray was back (who reported he was 18 pounds
lighter). Several members wished Mike Smith a speedy recovery. Rev Myron was happy
Minnie attended. Ursel and Larry were happy for the Happy Birthday singing. Jack D was “just
happy”. Bob D, Hal and Dianne were happy about the Camp Dream Day clean up effort.
Pablo was glad he came to today’s meeting to see the Builders Club members as he had gone
to the school yesterday thinking (wrongly) they were to meet. Ann N reiterated Pablo’s two
attendance comments, also stating that she enjoyed the Kiwanians’ humor. Anton was happy
for the great members of the NRHS Key Club and their energy and idea
